Founded in 1999, AskMen is a leading men's lifestyle site dedicated to providing style, money, grooming and dating tips to become a better man. Acquired in 2005 by IGN Entertainment, AskMen continues to reach over 40 million unique visitors from Australia, Canada, the Middle East, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The goal for this project was to create a mobile application that would enable the internal content management system, accessible to AskMen mobile content editors.
The Stauffer team created a mobile formatted iPhone application that syndicated Askmen content and filed it in an approval queue. Thus, ingesting a feed of content for a moderator to approve and edit before publishing to the Askmen mobile site. This process enabled a controlled content stream wherein a writer would create a draft and then an Askmen editor would review the content before publishing it.
